Children Intoxicated by Chlorine at Birthday Party

Several children were poisoned by chlorine in a pool during a family birthday party in Comodoro Rivadavia. According to authorities, one of the children had to be admitted to intermediate care.

According to the complaint filed, last Sunday the families were in a party hall celebrating a birthday when some children who were swimming in the pool began showing symptoms of dizziness, nausea, and irritation in their eyes and throat. In response to this situation, the children were urgently taken to the hospital to receive treatment for the poisoning.

One child remained hospitalized in intermediate care due to the severity of his condition. A mother, a witness to the events, commented: "It was very hot by the pool. One younger one started vomiting, and then the same happened to others."

After the complaint, it was confirmed that the venue was closed because the pool did not have the required authorization. The municipal secretary of Operational Control of Comodoro Rivadavia, Ricardo Gaitán, informed that the owners of the hall would also need to pay a financial fine.

It is important to mention that during the incident, the children had red eyes, which evidenced the consequences of exposure to chlorine in the pool.
